The painting is a representation of abstract concepts and emotions using symbols and metaphors. The Seated Enigma is a symbol of mystery and ambiguity, her identity and intentions unknown. She sits on an ancient stool that has witnessed many secrets and stories, that symbolizes history and tradition, as well as stability and authority. She holds a red tulip, a rare and magical flower that can reveal or conceal anything, that symbolizes passion and love, as well as danger and death. Her gaze is hidden, as if to express her inner conflict and her detachment from the world. The dark background creates a contrast with her golden hair and the bright tulip, suggesting a tension between opposites and hidden light and darkness in this mysterious world.
