They Will Fall Burning Painting

Visual artist A.C.Pifaro likes to express his visionary creations in a variety of art forms such as painting, photography, sound design and film. In his current practice of painting his primary interest is the analysis of shapes and textures allowing him to give rise to an unconfined and altering monochromatic abstract approach. Typically he paints standing with the canvas placed on the ground and spreads the paint in a push and pull technique. He uses original mixed media but mostly oil colours allied by a liberated strong painting hand, and he acts entirely based on intuition and improvisation. He believes that explaining his own paintings is rather difficult and inconsequential and prefers not to. Nonetheless, he considers his work atmospheric, pensive, ambiguous and with blurred and distorted elemental aesthetics. He finds inspiration from memories, relationships, absence and presence, light and darkness, loss and vulnerability and the relation between good and evil. A.C.Pifaro was born in 1982 in the south coast of Portugal and currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
