I have always been intrigued by the concept of how everlasting memories and emotions continue to live in our present and influence our future. I often recall my memories and experiences of exploring Mediterranean cities;the difference in cultures, smell of local cuisine, glorious architecture and the majesty and colors of their landscapes. All of this is kept very alive for me in my memories—it’s a part of who I am as an artist. For this painting I was inspired by my travel in Tunisia. Without using any photos as a reference, my intent for this painting was to convey an impression of a specific memory of Tunisian Medina. This artwork was featured in “Inspired by Paul Klee” collection on Saatchi Art's homepage, curated by Rowe Keri.
