ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This figurative sculpture has been created from one 12" vinyl music record - nothing has been added to the original circular material, nor removed. The label has been retained and matte varnished (The Many Faces of Led Zeppelin). Mounted on oak block with burnt mark-making and high gloss (13 x 13 x 4cm). A female version of this sculpture is also available on Saatchi Art and I'm happy to provide a discount when purchased as a pair. The sculptures are caught in states of movement, dance and musing. Function becomes form.

Sculptures created from whole vinyl music records... nothing added and nothing removed from the original material. The abstract, figurative forms are organic in their conception, with the vinyl having a life of its own upon heating. I pair the final sculptures with modern, geometric materials such as perspex and acrylic - the hard solids contrasting with the solidified, liquid lava appearance of the vinyl. The figures recline, dance and become caught in a movement that was previously evoked from the playing of the records themselves.
