Shelley lives and works at his studio in West Kent. The circle of light that is a key element in his abstract silkscreen art has it's origin in a single energy particle rotating at great speed, creating the illusion of solidity. This eventually increases in intensity to form a never-ending symbol of hope. Shelley translates his observation of light and light phenomena into the application of colour pigment as exploration, informing the process as well as the outcome. The creation of each piece is an experience of discovery, only sensing the point of completion. The dynamic relationship between abstract form and colour: the form receding, enabling the perception of colours and their relationship, whilst revealing a space beyond, a way through. Work by Shelley is held in public and private collections. One of his silkscreen prints has been taken into the British Museum Department of Prints and Drawings.
