“Beam” is an abstract urban cityscape painting. In it, two cantilevered lights and ridges from cement light poles contain the gradation of colors from ocean to sky to sunset. Teale chose the subject of lamp posts as way to share a sense of optimistic interconnectedness with the world around her through the expression of beauty, history and public spaces. This pop-art styled artwork is composed entirely of fragmented, visual elements of assorted city street lights utilizing hand cut stencils made from drawings, aerosol paint and metal leaf on translucent acrylic sheet. The mixed media painting can be displayed individually or in clusters and can be mounted against a wall, hung away from a wall, suspended from a ceiling or hung horizontally.
