ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is a combination of watercolour, acrylic and using the elements of season. I painted the background in washes of watercolour that I then placed outside in a light rainfall. I brought it into the studio, let it dry and then added some another layer of watercolour, and repeated these steps until I was happy. I then painted the female figure with her back to us, representing introspection and vulnerability. The colour palette for the figure is associated with water and represents the visceral human experience.
