ABOUT THE ARTWORK

September 2022 I was diagnosed of malaria and typhoid and I was given some meds. Few days after i finished my medication i wanted to trash the med packs then i noticed the colors in the blisters pack of the meds, immediately i got the inspiration to create with it. As a multi disciplinary artist i feel that i can get beauty from anything. The process of making this is firstly i drafted how i want it to look like, cut out a denim material, glued the blister packs to it and punched the blister packs and finally hand stitched. I use this same process for all my blister packs works Visual story; December 1998 mom , my sister and i Left for a camp retreat, mom decided we take a shortcut through the river, as we walked down the hill towards the bank of the river where the canoes are suddenly a masquerade came out, mom held us firmly and of course she was fearlessly praying. The masquerade waited for a while and left..... it was a very terrific experience and that was my first encounter with masquerades... Note: in Africa masquerades are NOT as friendly and it's NOT a thing for women or kids.

King Jacob is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist from Enugu, Nigeria. Being diagnosed with dyslexia at early age aided his early exploration of painting as an alternative communication tool. By portraying these emotions on the canvas, the obstacles present in written language disappear. Since this early discovery Art has meant more than just an aesthetic representation; art creation to King Jacobs is advocacy, revolutionary, self and cultural representation, and economic. Through diverse forms of material expressions, such as fashion designing, handmade leather crafts, he creates mix media artworks which combines his artistic knowledge with his unique way of perceiving the world. King uses his art as a means to tell true stories. A key element in his artistic production is the quest to finding the right means to share personal experiences or experiences emanating from his immediate environment. King Jacob's paintings has been featured in many exhibitions around the world mainly through his collaborations with Satellites of Art and Saatchi Art. These collaborations has facilitated networks between King Jacobs and other world artists and collectors.
