ARTIST STATEMENT I paint to capture the essence of nature and its components in their unique form by arranging colours side by side to form a unified whole; to enjoy the obvious that may be consciously hidden or otherwise. As perceived, light is the key that traverse in my paintings, unveiling the beauty of nature and its components in their various values. The world as represented by people, culture and the environment is beautiful to be a unique subject matter. BIO. Oyedele Abiodun Oyewumi (b. 1991), a native of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria, has an innate connection with nature that has greatly influenced his artistic journey. Beginning his academic path as a science student, his pursuit of Fine and Applied Arts at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, reignited his fervor for arts. He graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Technology (Hon.) in Fine and Applied Arts (Painting) with Second Class (Upper Division) in 2015.
