ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In Iphigenia we see the head of a girl with a copper-golden crown resembling a seashell and half of the torso clothed in a red and white satin dress. These attributes represent innocence, purity, and a sense of grace. The portrayal of a girl in a dress, especially one that incorporates red and white colors, is often associated with notions of femininity, beauty, and purity. This contrast between the copper-golden crown and the red and white dress symbolizes here the interplay of different qualities or aspects within the girl's character. Again as in previous of my paintings its a commentary on the complexity of human nature. This painting is inviting viewers to contemplate themes of femininity, innocence and wisdom, purity and power, or vulnerability and strength.
