An Ocean Above Print

Living near the sea in Monterey, California the sky was always changing. This abstract photograph of a swirling cloud detail was created after a vivid beach sunset, when the last pink light highlighted the dramatic clouds against a dark purple-blue sky. This work is titled 'An Ocean Above' because the movement and mood of the abstracted atmosphere has similar qualities to a deep, shifting sea. The delicate texture of the clouds contrasts with the strong edges as the wind blows the misty forms across the sky. The depth of the colours and layered light offers viewers an invitation to embrace the mysterious mood of the composition.
