Most of my work starts out with paper collage, the final pieces are oil painted. I have been influenced by Matisse, Kandinsky and Japanese graphic design. Piano and classic music/abstract are main themes. I also do landscape and vase. Because I like them. Painting piano started because I thought it would be nice to have piano painting in my apartment's room. Painting piano led me to do abstract painting inspired by listening to classic music. My abstract is inspired by Japanese print-maker Koshiro Onchi(1891-1955). Before I started using oil painting, I practiced drawing with the book called "Onchizuroku"(1881). It is a book of porcelain designs and sketches. In 2022, I started the vase/jar painting with oil. I grew up in Osaka, and studied in Sydney, Tokyo, Boston, Taipei and Paris. After studying in Paris, I started to pay more attentions to Japanese art, design and cultures. My vase painting is largely inspired by Kenkichi Tomimoto(1886-1963). I spent a year in Sydney, Australia when I was in high school, as an exchange student, and it led me to study Urban Planning/Landscape Design in college. Landscape is one of the important motifs of my works.
