Fatale - Limited edition of 1 Print

I am interested in societal expectations of gender and how much a little it has changed in the last 100 years. My current focus is femininity and in particular the trope of the femme fatale. An idea constructed by men that in equal parts sexualized and demonized the minute amount of independence women obtained with the advent of cities at the turn of the 20th century. Fatale is a critical exploration of that trope. Combining societal expectations of an ideal woman with the femme fatale trope, then warping those standards to an extreme. In this I hope to critique an outdated ideal that still affects how we perceive women’s bodies and sexuality today. Copper intaglio etching print with fabric Chine-collé.
