D.C. Thomas, a mixed media artist, was born and raised in Romania. It was in the capital that the artist began to cultivate her sensibility for abstract art and photography. She pursues analog and digital photography alongside en plein-air and studio painting. Her current portfolio includes painting, poetry and prose, photography, graphic design, sculpture, and linocut printing. The artist moved to the United States in 2013 and has been living in Clarksville, TN, for nearly eleven years. Thomas calls Clarksville her home and has volunteered for five years for local organizations and for Downtown Artists Cooperative (Art Gallery) where she chaired several committees and served as president of the art gallery during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an American citizen, visual artist, and writer based in the U.S.A., Thomas endeavors to outline her voice through art and express her creativity through varied media. Growing up in Romania, the artist’s life has been imbued with history and fairytales woven into the tapestry of her childhood. Both history and myth have provided nourishment throughout her life for art creation and shaped new channels for manifesting one’s consciousness. Thomas is the author of a poetry volume (e-book and paperback): Her Suns and Their Daughters: Daughters Of The Universe Seen (aka DOTUS).
