THE DANCER Painting

To me, the art of painting is an experimental state of mind – in both shape and media. This is why I use mixed media, experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques I begin each piece by creating an abstract explosion of colors which, on one hand, reflects my mood and, on the other, elevates my inspiration. While laying colors on the canvas, I begin to notice figures and shapes revealing themselves out of the background. The figures are created almost independently, calling me and drawing my attention, in a way that cannot be ignored. That is why I call it Abstract-Figurative. Very often it happens when I work over existing paintings, overlying them with new colors and materials, to find out that the demolition of one painting brings to life a fascinating new figure, mood and shapes all together.
