Born in Kiev, Ukraine. Painting, graphic arts, monumental and decorative arts, graphic design, interior design, art installations, collectibles design things ( rugs, textile, porcelaine plates). Space Model by Khrystyna Gaidamaka Khrystyna Gaidamaka is a unique and extraordinary artist. And that is not surprisingly as since her very birth there meant to be a certain artistic program in her personality. The program which fortunately ruins existing stereotype that children of geniuses are almost never geniuses. On the one hand, that is a great gift to be a daughter of prominent artists Larisa Mishchenko and Anatolij Gaidamaka; on the other hand, that is a great responsibility and everlasting fight for your personal, your OWN place in the field of arts. In the case of each success you always have to apologize for your origin, trying to prove your self-sufficiency and independence. Probably that became the main reason for the basic symbol of her art – TREE of life which grows from strong root, with each branch to live its own life holding the trunk. Her trees are the essence of life with all the moments of joy, sadness, love, disappointment, and deep and sincere patriotism. Khrystyna’s art is a little window to life where nature is represented with no mediators and particular convention. She models the space in its symbolic moments, creating the system of diverse perspectives and tones, combining poetic perception of the environment with the reality, making different views out of her own window. Khrystyna is a painter – romantic. She constantly tries to bring life of her soul together with the reality which is sometimes quite cruel. This is the way her cycle of graphic works “Ukrainian Diary” was being created. That was the SOUL which was screaming in despair and pain to the whole world when trying to protect her country: Ilovaisk, Ukrops (Ukrainian patriots), the Heavenly Hundred, St. Patrons Scythian babas, all of them are anti – poetical reality which is the demonstration of the craftswoman’s viewpoint and her weapon in a whirlwind of present. Her works fascinate with ethical philosophic melody of still lifes which one can read and move like a jigsaw puzzle. However, I would not dare do that being scared of breaking Khrystyna’s code where every apple has a well-defined place and each pattern on the rushnyk (towel) is a coded message. That is why she has not got panoramic pictures which are so beneficial and commercial.
