During the lockdown, time seemed to stand still. The streets were empty and the days seemed like empty containers, but full of free time. Watching television series, reading, cooking, baking bread and pizza, making video calls with almost forgotten friends has often filled the void of that container and consumed that time that seemed to be in excess. Then I began to think about the preciousness of that time and I began to want to hold it back, to sip it slowly, shortening more and more the interval I was observing: passing from a whole day, to an hour, to a minute, to a instant … that instant that I wanted to start making it last longer. So I found myself starting meditating. Every morning, as soon as I got up, the first thing was to lie down on the ground and meditate. Many things happen in meditation, one of which is seeing things from a different point of view. Among these things there are also our fears. One of my fears was and still is that of ruining something that exists, even the very purity of a blank sheet, which can be so easily ruined by a wrong brushstroke … so that was where I had to act! So as soon as I finished my daily meditation, I took the watercolors and a blank sheet and, in one go, concentrating on the gestures I tried to fix in there an image. Large brush strokes, full of water in which I tried to drown my fear. Medit-Action was born like this.
