This painting is my reflection on the biblical story in which Abraham welcomes three travelers under the oak of Mamre, unaware that they are angels. Zeltsman Mariya – Contemporary Artist Exploring the Structure of the World Through Symbolism, Expressionism, and Decorative Art Born in Odesa, Ukraine, Mariya has felt since childhood that painting is her true calling and means of self-expression. She graduated from an art school and later from the Fine Arts Faculty at a university, where she was mentored by renowned masters and honored artists of the USSR. Their influence helped her develop a deep understanding of form, color, and composition. Even in Odesa, she began contemplating fundamental questions about the structure of the world and human nature, which later became the central theme of her art. Through color, form, and texture, she strives to convey her inner world and personal experiences. Until 2022, she lived and worked in Odesa, actively participating in the art scene through solo and group exhibitions. After the war began, she moved to the USA, then to Spain, and later to Israel, where she continues her artistic journey. Each of these countries has left an imprint on her work, bringing new meanings and nuances to her paintings. Her style combines elements of decorative art, abstract expressionism, symbolism, cubism, and primitivism. Using bold color schemes, dynamic forms, and profound symbols, she creates artworks that are not just paintings but visual reflections on life, time, and the human soul. Her works are part of private collections in Ukraine, Germany, the USA, Spain, and Israel. She continues to explore new forms of artistic expression, blending traditional techniques with experimental approaches.
