Horizon - one Print

Inspired by the view of the sea, looking toward Ireland on the Welsh coast at sunset, this digital artwork is based, as is much of my work this year, on an exploration of light in a glassy world. Glass has been my sculptural material of choice for many years. I love the response of glass to light: its sharpness and smoothness delights me. This is therefore a very personal response to the expanse and mood of the distant horizon and brilliant colour of the scene interpreted as one of my fractured glass mosaics. This digital original exploits these characteristics, creating a multi-coloured mosaic of imagined glass. The work seems fractured and broken, yet it's quietly alive with colour and life. This is an original work created digitally, printed on canvas and stretched on a frame.
