30.4.1965 Prerov CZ/EU Czech artist Dan Trantina (1965)is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague at Professor Jiri Naceradskys studios of monumental painting (unusually large paintings).Trantina went through long and rigorous training which is typical at the Eastern European and classically inclined Art Academy. Trantinas expressive and gestic style,by which he is noted today, has its roots right there. But his heavy and nervy hand writing, with which he alots the space to the image, has modelled itself into a form which nearly disputes realistic and figurative content of the composition. From the beginning the author s interest revolved around the themes of the human body and face. From the earliest exhibits on the female and the male body appears. It is grouped into courageous and open confrontations which are often erotic and sensuous:Trantina never concerns himself with overly explicit depictions, and oftentimes accords to the viewer a right to think about unfinished action and seemingly undecided meaning. He does not hand to the viewer anything obvious. The vehemence and gesture of his work do not permit it.The action is contained in and concealed within his expressive and resolute hand
