His first NYC exhibition was in 1990 at Soho's UOLO. In 1991 his work appeared at one of NYC's most prestigious galleries of realistic works, Gallery Henoch. Soon he was commissioned to paint for various Hollywood notables, including Burt Reynolds and John Larroquette. In 1996, Shellstrom moved to Venice, California. He was selected to appear in Armand Hammer Museum's "Emerging Artists" show in 1997. In 1999 LA County Museum Art & Sales Gallery selected Scott's "Trash" series to hang on it's fabled walls. Next he painted "Venice. Where the city meets the sea" paintings that reveal the dichotomy of the beach's beauty and the grit of urban life. He now lives in Encinitas, CA painting beach themed paintings and commissions.
