ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Aleister Crowley was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter and novelist. He founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century. This Portrait, constructed with pen and ink is a homage to this historical figure drawn in the decadent Art Nouveau style which was popular during his time. I was inspired by the Tarot, basing this piece off the magician card. Viewers may also be interested in my other Tarot inspired pieces such as The Wheel of Fortune and the Death card
