1956 Born in Ankara, TURKEY1973 İstanbul State of Fine Art Academy 1981 Graduated from Neset GUNAL studio 1988 Provincetown Art Work Center,USAworkshop in art colonyThere is no doubt that all artists are witnesses of the epoch they live in, as they have to be at the forefront of new ideas and new values within the changing times. The everyday things we see in life may appear different depending on whether we are pessimistic or optimistic, but life is the same within its own reality: The main difference is our point of view .I personally try to expand the borders of my world and understand life by its conflicts by seeing life from my own perspective.I find that complicated problems, which may appear insolvable, usually have their solutions hidden within themselves.I find that life is a paradox of beauty and ugliness, fairness and unfairness, each of which are strongly integrated with the other in my work. By using an allegorical and ironical style, I express the unserious behind the serious, the comedy behind conflicts and hypocrisy with an objective eye, and this may manifest itself as humour from time to time.I have portrayed the struggle of the '' raison d'etre ''of ordinary people, their everyday dreams and happiness,as well as those hidden faces of powerful men whose artifice is constantly evident within society. I therefore take my main inspiration from the diverse nature of the people from the past and present that I come in contact with.
