ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In addition to my Carré project of mirroring images of (mostly) unattended pictures I started recently to make an artwork with the same idea but without the picture as a base but pure digitally, working with forms and colour. Somebody told me when she saw this artwork that it looked too much of a work by Gustav Klimt, which made me laugh (and happy) because that was never my intention. Coincidence is such a great thing.

My (digital) artwork is mostly based on photography. I try to create new forms that originate from ordinary, sometimes even unnoticed objects: fire escapes, rusty containers, details of buildings. It's nice to give meaning to things that had little or no meaning before. Sometimes it's like giving life to dead objects. The outcome of a collage is never certain, they continue to surprise. And sometimes one picture is just enough.
