Vaikunth- is the highest realm, and is the heavenly abode of Vishnu. The Puranas state that Vaikunth is located in the direction of the Makar rashi or the constellation of Capricorn. Vaikunth has golden palaces, beautiful gardens with sweet scented flowers. There in a body of water, where lotuses grow in abundance, lies the five headed serpent - Sheshnag. His coils provide the seat for Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi to rest, under the Protective canopy of Sheshnag’s fangs. Sheshnag is also called Anant Shesha or Adi Shesha, representing remnant or unending energy . This reflects our unsettled minds, desires and thoughts. The resting Vishnu, represents control and balance over the surplus energy that can threaten disorder and chaos.

I am an Ophthalmologist, working in the NHS for the past 25 years. I have always been drawn to the ancient arts and architecture that resonate emotions and a joyous expression of imagination. I seek to explore the principles of Arth (meaning), Kama (desire), Dharma (virtue) and Moksha (liberation) through my art. For me art has a connection with the mysteries of the ancient world, a bridge between the old and new. My art is an amalgam of ancient culture, folkloric themes and tribal traditions, the use of natural materials, colours and dyes interwoven with myths and legends to create an illusion of the ethereal and immortal. I try to capture the strong forms of the masculine and feminine, the Physical and metaphysical, the Prakriti and purush. Bold strokes interlaced with intricate details, building texture and emphasis and a free flow of thought to create order and harmony on a blank canvas. It is an expression of my emotions and individuality and a path to an internal journey ,we all need to make at some stage in life.
