Contemporary Abstract Artist. My practice is grounded in a material language that explores the lifespan of surfaces, structural tension, and the quiet dynamics of change.
Deniz Mayasilci (b. 1993, Germany) is a contemporary abstract artist whose work is deeply informed by industrial material logic and process-driven transformation. He studied Mechatronics at the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe, a technical background that shapes his precise approach to surface construction and geometric tension. Mayasilci lives and works in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Artist Statement
Utilizing pigments, washes, and matte textures, I create atmospheres where density, erosion, and transformation become visible through layered, earthy fields and condensed, angular zones.
I explore how surfaces accumulate traces — abrasion, deposits, fractures, and compression. Rather than disruptions, these marks are extensions of the material logic itself: evidence of use, time, and decay embedded in the surface.
My work moves between organic transitions and precise, constructed edges. Geometric structures, sharp lines, and open fields coexist in a tension that defines my visual language. This interplay of stillness, hardness, clarity, and slow material movemen...
