My works a inspired by the mechanical and geometric shapes I've seen in machinery and engines throughout my life. I started this piece with the first layer closest to the wall, kind of a capital I shape, it then evolved into a longer shape as I added the 2nd and 3rd layers. I don't like to do prelim...

My art is a fluctuation between order and chaos. As a child I remember feeling a great sense of freedom and wonder when I created art. There was a peace and focus that seemed to elude me in the academic world. Learning to read was difficult for me and math was a foreign language as far as I could tell. Art was my saving grace. Through it I discovered myself—that I had a place of value in this world, and that in the depths of my soul I had a yearning to create. With art I realized I had a way to express myself without words. I discovered an unspoken language—a language of color, line, and shape. Art became my mother tongue. I’ve worked as a professional artist since graduating from university in 1983. I spent 30 years as a successful freelance illustrator creating hundreds of images for magazines and books. Through that process I sharpened my sense of design in order to communicate a visual message. Today as a fine artist, I use those skills to create my work, which can be found in private and public collections throughout the world.
