Pacha Mama Sculpture

Hello, welcome to my page, may name is Stef and I live and create in the beautiful city of Delft. I am a lawyer during the day and sculptor in the nights. Despite the fact that I need to be creative at my work, I am limited by the law. On the other hand, while sculpting, the creativity has a free rein, there are no rules or laws in the way. I am guided by the stone showing me boundaries which I need to respect. The whole process of making a sculpture, from design, choosing a stone, hacking, sanding, polishing until the end result, requires total dedication from me. When I sculpt, I enter a state of mind that makes everything around the sculpture disappear and the whole world consists of just one stone. This is my meditation... I get my inspiration from nature, I go on a metaphysical hunt in nature, looking for animals, shapes, rhythms and movement. I can capture for instance a movement like a diving bird, and turn it into a movie. That movie consists of just one picture, telling the story I want to share.
