Here you can see an individual interpretation of a moon rainbow or the colors of that represented in the form of a "tree slice" on a canvas. The artist tries to return wood residues, such as wood shavings and sawdust, back to their original form, the tree, by modeling from a self-produced wood pulp, the individual annual rings, as in a tree from the core starting alternating with artist acrylic paints to the outside. As with a tree that grows, she thus starts from the core inside and models the individual annual rings of the "tree" to the outside. This is an intensive process, as each layer involves a long drying time. Narrow, colored annual rings and wide annual rings of wood paste, reflect the seasons of winter and summer. The cross-section of this slice shows the individual layers elaborately modeled on and is reminiscent of a tree slice, with the lifelines of a tree. A moonbow is formed when the light of the moon hits water droplets in the atmosphere. To observe this natural phenomenon, you have to be a real lucky person, because a number of factors have to coincide. Lunar rainbows, since even the full moon is 470,000 times fainter than the sun, are faint and difficult to see, especially when affected by light pollution. To the human eye, they appear white because of their faintness. Only on photos, taken with long exposure time, they are also colored. All works of the artist are unique.

« Art helps me to express myself when words are missing. It is my retreat and helps me to be with myself, to lose myself in my own world. » Sandra Brugger (*1986) is a freelance self-employed sculptress based in Austria whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the USA, Germany and Italy. Through her works she processes experiences, emotions and situations that have touched her. The subjects and themes presented in Brugger's pieces are expansive and range from abstract shapes and nature, to humans. Her distinctive pieces are most often created using wood.
