I've always been attracted to wooden feet. There's just something about their stability - their grounded-ness. So when I found shoe forms at flea markets and yard sales I began collecting them. Eventually I made a series of works entitled "Feats" with every size and shape of shoe form and attached many to old metal roller skates from the 1950's. "C-Foot was one of that series that became a work all on its own. When I find the smallest shoe forms used to make infant shoes they always give my heart a twinge. It makes me think about as an infant we come into this world perfect and all-knowing, but then the world beats us up and we forget all we once knew about what's really important, like love! In my older age, I'm beginning to see that the hard knocks actually wake us up to our true selves and our connection to all that exists. "C-Foot says, "carry your club high and don't beat yourself with it!" "C-Foot is made from a child-sized wooden shoe mold, a wooden mallet and a wood box lid assembled with love.
