Natalia Anna Kalisz was born in 1988 in Poland. Her work combines graphic techniques with oil painting, photography and drawing. The works reference different visions of the world’s origin, personal ideas about human nature, the cycle of birth, as well as life and passing. She’s guided by the idea of what is primal and existential. She draws inspiration from both late Gothic altars and eighteenth-century classicism, as well as nineteenth-century symbolic painting. Her artistic portfolio includes seven solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She received many awards, including the Artistic Scholarship of the Mayor of Lodz in 2014. During her scholarship programme she released an art. book illustrated with a series of images that combine different forms of printing, as well as drawing and painting techniques. In 2016 she was awarded the Wiesław Nowicki Prize, which is a recognition of her entire body of work for national culture and the city of Lodz. Since 2014 she has been a member of the Lodz Artist’s Association El Art. Natalia Kalisz’s studio is in a nineteenth-century workers’ home. The premises feature a graphic, painting and photographic studio. Several times a year the studio doors open for art lovers and graphic workshops.
