About The Artwork

Anna Nicole Smith From 1991when I was the first to photograph the then Vicki Lynn Smith, until her death in2007 as Anna Nicole Smith, her story was about a dirt-poor single mother, working as a fried chicken waitress, being lifted from the dust of West Texas, to international stardom, to then being a woman destroyed. I photographed her Playboy test shooting, her 1992 Playboy Debutant cover, and her 1992 Playboy Playmate pictorial. As the 1993 Playmate of the Year she appeared as Anna Nicole, a name given her by Playboy Editor Mariyln Grabowski. She became an international model, celebrity, and sex symbol when she later appear as a Guess! supermodel. Her 1994 wedding at the age of 26 to 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall ended in tragedy with his death a year later. The fantasy of Anna Nicole that we created was seductive, manipulative, glamorous and larger than life. Her background as a dancer in a Houston strip club brilliantly and naturally polished her art of seducing through the lens. Digital Scan printed on Hahnemuhle Baryta FB, 350gsm, 100% a-cellulose, a bright white museum grade art paper. Signed and numbered by the artist. Certificate of Authenticity included. From the "Shooting Sex" Collection.

Stephen Wayda is an internationally published photographer best known for his demonstrative images of celebrities and women. In the creation of entertaining and compelling images he is widely regarded as a master in the use of composition and light, both natural and artificial. After 40 years, as an editorial and commercial photographer and photojournalist, he is expanding into the world of Fine Art and teaching as a means to realize his additional Creative depth. He now lives in Bali, Indonesia. Wayda’s photographs of A-list celebrities, Pop Culture icons, supermodels, musicians and the “girl next door” are a depiction of personality, sensuality, sexuality, and most of all, attitude. He is know for the use of light to create a mood of realism that captures the intimacy and openness of his subjects, bringing out those fleeing moments of their humanity and their sense of self. His subjects have included: Actors Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington, Demi Moore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DiVito, Sharon Stone, Tom Selleck, James Woods, Jerry Seinfeld, Bo Derek, Dan Aykroyd, Pop Culture Icons Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Nick Symmonds; Musicians Kid Rock, The Game, Cory Feldman, Roselyn Sanchez, Carmen Electra; and many others. As a contributing photographer for Playboy magazine, Playboy Publisher Hugh M. Hefner stated: “Beauty lights the brain and is its own reward. Playboy is that visual feast of beauty and that reward…. a celebration of glamour and the good life, and a reflection of my own romantic views of women. It’s the girl next door as part of a positive, life-affirming attitude toward sexuality, of female emancipation rather than exploitation. Playboy is a statement that good girls like sex, too. Stephen Wayda has shared my dream and vision for some 30 years. From an inauspicious start at Playboy, he has become the most published photographer in the history of Playboy. His photographs have helped change the way the world looks at women, and the way women look at the world. His influence on photography cannot be overstated. His evolving styles, his sense of sexuality coupled with the personality of his photographic subjects brought the Playboy dream, from the fantasy of decadence and passion in Paris to the charm of the girl next door in the wheat fields of Texas, to life.
