Gerard and Marc have been creating award winning large scale group tableaux since late 1990s. They work tirelessly in pre-production to create elaborate sets and props often from scratch to achieve a finished shot that adds to their initial vision very much like a Hollywood film production. Gerard’s and Marc's unusual approach, their keen eye for detail and their gift for storytelling soon found them in great demand where they developed the concept, and directed all creative stages from casting to post-production which allowed them to further explore their personal creative vision. As their reputation grew, they began to work internationally, particularly in Asia. Gerard O’Connor is the previous winner of the Canon AIPP Australian Professional and Fine Art Photographer of theYear award. Marc and Gerard then had a solo show at Australian Centre for Photography curated by Alasdair Foster which was well received. Then Alasdair curated a solo Show for Gerard and Marc at the Pingyao International Photography Festival,Chinas longest running art photo event and they won a the Jin Hou Niao Zun award for best international work at the festival (a festival presenting work by over 2,000 photographers to an audience of 200,000 visitors in a single week). While in China the pair took on two ambitious photo series. They made images that satirized the period with the support of the officials and the delight of the audiences. They showed work as part of the academic program that accompanied the Australian focus for KIAF (the Korean International Art Fair) in 2011 and their photographic tableaux were included in an exhibition for the Museum of Photography in Seoul, to coincide with the art fair. They also begun to work with the National Trust, using their buildings and properties as settings for his satirical reconstructions. This is a bold way in which to stimulate a sense of the past and get beyond a parade of lifeless artefacts preserved behind a rope barrier. They understand the way in which the humour and critique of satire can energise and engage the mind of the viewer
