"I use the camera as a tool of creation and imagination.” Marta Scavone is an artist from Turin, born in 1998, who blends various forms of expression to create visually and conceptually stimulating images. She graduated from art school with a Fashion Design diploma in 2017 and later, following the footsteps of her grandfather photographer, she graduated with honors in 2020 in Visual Arts - Photography at IED in Turin. Her passion for theatre an dance, along with her academic background, influences her approach to photography, pushing it beyond the confines of the traditional concept. She rejects them mere replication of the surrounding world to bring to life unique scenarios that cannot be seen elsewhere, creating dreamlike images that straddle the line between illustration and painting. Marta's photography is produced in a studio setting, where she builds colorful sets and experiments with her body in self portraits. The empty space of the studio represents to her what a blank canvas would be to a painter: infinite creative possibilities. Multidisciplinarity is a keyword in her work. She combines photography, fashion, installation art, and theatrical performance, to explore contemporary themes and convey profound reflections of our society in a conceptual and creative manner.
