Valentina Schandl, born 1995, lives and works in Vienna. As a photographer, she focuses on the female body and places it in a new context. Her photographs show the contrast between the softness and strength of women and unite them in one image. The works are very direct. By masking or omitting the face, the body becomes an independent entity that calls on the viewer to deal with the role of the female body. In 2016 she started the medium of photography and moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she worked on her portfolio. In 2019 she graduated from the College of Graphic Arts Vienna. She is part of the feminist art movement in Vienna and shows her works at various exhibitions and auctions. Her photo series have been published in various magazines. She has been studying art history at the University of Vienna since 2019 and curates alongside her work as an artist.
