Live and Work in Sao Paulo Brazil 07/27/1960 Born in Itarare 1978 Move to Sao Paulo 1988 Immigrate to Albufeira-Portugal 1990 Return to Sao Paulo 2000 Move to Recife PE 2002 Return to Sao Paulo Ed Primo, an artist with a lot of initiative and projects, who works using paints and recycled materials from garbage, putting an enormous creative skill and love. One day a teacher said: "You are good with colors". He was 11 years old and those words touched him very deep. He decided to be an artist. He really enjoyed painting and did not stop doing it. He started to paint on his notebooks. He never had a chance to study on sophisticated art schools. All his knowledge came from his regular school years. He still feels attracted by sheets of paper and gouache paints, but he works with the canvas with the same quality. He painted a big number of mini pictures, where the colors seem to be alive, dancing by the rhythm of a imagination with an inexhaustible amount of ideas. It seems that the colors are the visual form of music, which never stops to play, like Kandinski. Maybe that's why he likes to listen to music while he paints.Ed Primo classifies himself as "a sort of philosopher ,lousy macrobiotic, bad tracer and a intuitive artist". "I never made a sketch", that's what he says. Maybe he doesn't need to draw well because he does that using colors, as he claims. The sketches are inside his soul and his idealistic way of living, full of projects and plans which he saves for the future, not knowing exactly when he is going to use them. The art has a loving side, painting because it is compulsive. It comes from his soul. There is a commercial side, where he makes plans to register his art on multiple ways. Also, a particular side that moves inside him when he thinks about social matters. The suffering that finds around him, also touches his spirit. "I paint when I am totally angry". Sensitive, human, aware to the quotidian of the things, Ed Primo shows his art, spirit, joy, sadness and pain."When I was a kid, I used to draw on the bed, hidden from everyone. I had shame of those silly drawings. It was a solitary and rewarding process that used to make me feel calm. I think that unconsciously I knew that I would become an artist."
