Blue Scene Photograph - Limited Edition of 10

I was born in Russia, but now i live and work in Tallinn, Estonia. I consider myself a photographer that collects. I listen without letting out a single word. I observe but I don’t create. Every day I hope to take a picture that will add to my collection full of various shades, moods, seasons and sensations. Simplicity, absence, minimalism, form, mundanity and everydayness are the materials I talk about. Simple narratives are the basis of my work. Capturing regular things is the main task. The everyday and the ordinary are too important to ignore. Everyday life is all about the individual. Although I don’t take pictures of people, these pictures are all about the people. A person in the photo forces me to think of him as a person, but by excluding him as a physical object, I see the place and the person as a whole. I think about the place, why it is the way it is, and how the person interacts with this place. Why everything around us is the way it is. The absence of man helps me feel his presence more vividly. The style of pictures I take shapes the space I reside. The sense of accepting reality is liberating. I don't resist and seek beauty in what’s around me. Striving for simplicity is my way of embodying the desire to be concise.
