A retaining wall repair on Queen Anne hill, Seattle, WA. This just seemed to say so much about us. If the buyer has no special requests for a different medium (canvas, metal, acrylic...) all prints will be made on Hahnemuhle® fineart paper (BARYTA 300gsm, 100% a-Cellulose, Satin Finish, Extremely Deep DMAX, Acid Free). I also like Moab Entrada Bright Rag smooth fine art paper (Bright White, Acid Free Smooth Fine Art, 290gsm, 100% Cotton).**Please let me know if you'd like some other surface. I am happy to do it if I can, although there may be added expense for some special requests.

I am always (!) open to making my work in different sizes and on different mediums to accommodate collectors desires. Just get in touch with curator@saatchiart.com. The sales will always be handled through Saatchiart.com but we will work together with you to get you what you need. I'm a Photographer and Painter born in Colorado, USA. My father was a landscape architect and my mother, a teacher and librarian. Both of them practiced creative arts and crafts outside of their professions. Mom has painted for as long as I can remember and Dad always has some new or continuing creative interest he's working on (drawing, painting, stained glass, wood working...). I have one older brother and one younger. While growing up in the 70's and 80's we lived in a couple small towns in South Central and Southwest Colorado. There was one short stint in Vermont and another in Northern California but both times we came back fairly quickly to Colorado. I started my obsession with photography in high school. I was very inspired by Ansel Adams and the landscapes that surrounded me on the high desert plateau of the four corners area. After studying photography and graphic arts at college in Flagstaff, Arizona I moved to Seattle, Washington where I've lived for 32 years. During that time I became very involved in the rock climbing community and all sorts of outdoor recreational pursuits. As far as work goes, I was mostly working in commercial and editorial photography but also shooting more personal art work that was having to do with nature and landscapes. I am an artist and always have been. There are many other artists who have influenced me over my career. Ansel Adams, Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, Gregory Heisler, Patrick Demarchelier, Albert Watson, Elliot Erwitt, Georgia O'Keefe, Andrew Wyeth, Ed Mell, and many more. In painting I am mostly self taught except for a handful of classes and workshops I've taken over the years and whatever I absorbed from my mother and grandmother in all the time I watched their painting. My photography was learned through years of formal training in high school and college and tutelage while working with over 100 different photographers when I was a freelance photographers assistant... that and a lot of practice and perseverance over 35+ years. My art photography is mostly nature inspired though I often think I should try creating more figurative work from time to time. Maybe I'll change it up one day... you never know.
