"Jana Farmanová belongs to the significant Slovak figurative painters. She uses the traditional painting to enter discursive themes of the presence . Through this, she contributes to an update of the possibilities of expression, because she brings it back to the live social context. If she touches the publicly-discussed themes related to the area of visual culture, it not programmatic, but rather natural, as a result of her concentrated work. The direction axis of the author does not contain the desire for rash engagement or radical social gestures. She has no need to systematically make herself visible. She does not work with the upper-most thesis that would make her to enforce it by power or pull her away from visual arts. She avoids the definitive claims, empty slogans and significant norms, a closed form and horizon in painting. She does not desire the power influence on the "course of things". She does not politicise. Her point of view is much more modest, quiet, concentrated, and therefore more wise." Petr Vanous monograph about Jana Farmanova, Jana Farmanova, Slovart 2012
