My first real painting was created in High School and it won an award. I was offered $100 for it by a teacher, but I decided to make it a birthday gift to my mother since it was a still life of her brass pitcher and bowl from India. I also painted several antiques of hers and eventually did her portrait in oil. When she stopped laughing she convinced me to stick to still life scenes. She then sent me off to college to continue my art education. Over the years I took courses in painting and visited art museums whenever possible. I participated in community art exhibits and was delighted when anyone asked to make a purchase. It is very satisfying to me that my creations give pleasure to someone. I paint in both oil and acrylic, and I enjoy doing abstracts as well as scenes in nature and animals. I have donated prints of my Sleeping Cat to help raise funds for animal rescue, which is a cause that is very dear to my heart. My paintings are displayed in several businesses and a university library. I have sold them locally and internationally. I enjoy the challenges of special requests, and I can create different sizes and colors if desired. I have a somewhat wild imagination when it comes to my abstracts, but I can also make very peaceful scenes depicting nature and animals. I firmly believe that the right piece of art in a room can instantly energize the spirit, by both color and subject matter. I would love for you to take a few minutes to view my creations and let me know what you think. Visit my website:
