These works are part of a body of work titled 'What, Where and When' created in 2006. It is a project attempting to look into the feelings and thoughts generated by everyday living. The images represent multi-layered memories of those feelings and thoughts. One work may have three or four layers. It is left up to each individual's observation to decide the number of layers. These layers used to be separated memories but under one roof, they have been joined together to lead us to an unreachable place, which is rather surreal. Sometimes, it is far easier to view the work without its content, without focusing on the meaning of the work. It is conveyed by contrast. Contrast in its light and dark, in its colour, and in the various textures generated by different media. It is enjoyable to work with only media such as oil paint, charcoal, graphite, watercolour, and etc. This gives you a space to be true to yourself. In putting this body of work together, I found that I have created more puzzles with my memories than if I have had put them away. Karnjamart Puengpaisal, 2006
