My practice is about reconstructing reality in mixed media. I would best describe my work as investigative. Influences: Mark Rothko’s intellect; and the philosophers who influenced him which were Plato & Nietzsche. And following on I discovered Eric Kandel a Neuroscientist who shed light on Reductionism and seeing which later lead me to discover Psychiatrist Iain McGilchrist who explains “The Divided Brain and the making of the Modern World” in his book THE MASTER and his EMISSARY. Knowing now that just as when one sculptures a rock to find what lies beneath its surface or starts on a blank canvas, the sculpture is there and so is the painting. “You cannot extract art from life, nor can you extract life from art” by Gazelle
