My work focuses on human relationships, on the contradiction of the contemporary individual who seeks, on the one hand, to satisfy the basic need to connect with others and, at the same time, to remain independent, distrusting the "being related" in a permanent way, which is the result of the individualization process of our time. All this generates a tension that translates into fragile relationships in which the individual is and is not simultaneously. The compositions are based on backgrounds made with discreet, organic textures and colors, on which silhouettes are articulated or a cut of it (at natural size), which is the shadow or the void of it, at the same time presence and absence of the individual, in different situations. All the figures have been obtained from photographs in mass media, sometimes from characters, sometimes from the written press... as if pretending a connection with a decontextualized real world. Nor does the origin of these mental lucubrations that I use to make the works matter much, because in the end I try to make the spectator enjoy the surface of the painting, the simplified forms, the textures, the colors... without the need to go deeper than the appearance, since in no case is anything concluded.
