I have been feeling inspired by Henri Rousseau's beautiful artwork. It's really inspiring how he portrayed tropical scenes without having seen them in real life.
In this tropical scene I portray my own version of a tropical lightning storm. I decided to include a sloth, because they are amazing animals with impressive ways of life. I think their adaptation skills are very cleaver. However, now that they are losing their forests, their life pace is endangering them. With this project I would like to remind people how this picture might not exist in the near future.
I have included press dried natural plants and flowers, and two little dried insects, which play an important part in the natural world. I have also experimented a little with a fantastic glow in the dark pigment. The effect is stunning, although it's very difficult to capture on a normal camera.
