It is a neutral or achromatic colour, meaning literally it is a colour without colour. We in South Africa are called a rainbow nation but maybe we must become a grey nation. Artistic inspiration began at an early age, born on 4 November 1960 in a small town in Namibia. In South Africa as a young girl she found her most natural expression through art. She explored pencil drawings and discovered her love for portraits and the human body. She finds inspiration in what happens visually around her, her loved ones, the news, magazines and television. She notices the sadness, the anticipation and the intent in a gesture, a posture, a face. And that is what she brings to the canvas. Her artistic philosophy is to spread happiness, to inspire kindness and enjoy life to the full. In 2008 she was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and in 2010 took up art classes with Alicia Maasburg where she discovered her love for painting with oil. She also studied the colour wheel with Louis Audi and leared to mix colours. She started off as a realistic painter but after the introduction to the palette knife, she developed her own unique style. In 2013 she took a few years off to help raise her only grandson and began painting again in 2017 at Rembrandts art school. Her favoured artists are: Tretschikoff, van Gogh, da Vinci and Mornet.
