Jean Pierre Bergoeing is a renowned French artist residing in Costa Rica. Since 1980 he presented several great exhibitions throughout Latin America, Europe & Africa. Painting for over 50 years, his great works present the art style of 'Oniric Realism' using the medium Acrylic On Canvas. His paintings are inspired by the several countries he has studied, visited or resided and captures the beauty of the wild animals, tropical landscapes, native people, culture, villages and traditional dwellings. The paintings are a direct representation of his kind and loving perspective and the locations chosen have been directly influenced by his Geomorphological Studies, presenting his interpretation of the land formations. During his later years of high school, he met and developed a friendship with the famous Chillian painter Raul Ulloa Burgos. Jean Pierre then initiated a similar painting style to Mr.Burgos’ which posed very popular. After completing his schooling he became a Professor at the Catholic University of Chile in Chile where he further developed his passion for art and painting. He completed a Masters of Geography from the University of Nantes France in 1972. Thereafter in 1975 he attained his PHD in Geomorphology in which he pursued his career as a Professor in the field and further developed his talent into painting landscapes as a result of his practical field investigations. Jean Pierre then achieved a Doctorate of State in Es-Lettres and Human Sciences which was the highest qualification in his field. This was a turning point in his career as he could move to Africa and provided his lectures at the University of Niamey in Niger. Awoken by the pressing needs of the Society he immersed himself in the culture and assisted students and families beyond his duties which deeply influenced his paintings. He could express his many experiences through his paintings and they were brought to life in multiple successful exhibitions. The unfortunate coup d'etat in 1996 forced him and the entire French community to flee Niger, which took him abroad to the tropics of Central America. He settled in San José, Costa rica and accepted a position as a Diplomat of the whole Central American Region representing the Government of France. In the year 2000 Jean Pierre and his family moved back to the French Riviera so his two sons could complete their studies in their home land.
