Queen of Hearts Painting

Jacqui Miller strives to create art that bears witness to racial equality and the beauty of ethnicities. Her subjects are inspired by diverse cultures and current events. Her style is neo-pop; painted in acrylics on canvas using richly saturated colors, outlined with bold black lines, and often accented with metallics. What makes her work standout is her trademark depiction of the portrait being split straight down the middle. One half is painted to represent Caucasians, the other half is painted to represent people of color. It’s this uncomplicated aesthetic that quite clearly, and effectively, illustrates the equality of races, that one half is not superior to the other. “My family is very diverse, we love and respect each other’s differences, and see each other as equals. There’s no posturing for the seat at the head of the table, and we’re all willing to take the garbage out. If we can do it, everyone can do it!”
