In my work I try to provide a viewer with with multiple experiences. When viewed at closer distance my painting is a set of beautiful meticulously elaborated strokes of painting knife. I'm a self-taught artist based in Prague, Czech Republic. My preferred creative medium is oil paint. My current project is set around the selfie phenomenon. Believed by some to be a major visual pollution factor it's also undeniably a valid way of self expression, which quite often turns into self-obsession. Members of such cult of their own build new virtual reality around themselves in a futile effort to become something bigger, like an idol or an icon. But as we are getting flooded with millions selfies every day, individuals in those photos become more and more faceless, impersonal and devalued. It's also a sort of Lego game for me, I deconstruct and then re-build images trying to understand what moves people around us to make and post selfies. In photography I prefer the analog way of doing things, which utilizes the gelatin-silver process. By doing everything myself, from choosing the most appropriate light-sensitive material to the toning of a final print, I manage to obtain maximum creativity at every stage. My favorite subject is landscape, but I tend to photograph whatever captures my eye or imagination.
