Pre-Stadium Painting

Gerard Torres Sanmartí graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona (2013) and graduated in the Official Master of Artistic Production and Research from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona (2016). PhD student in the line of research "Advanced Studies in Artistic Productions" at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona, ​​he directs and produces the radio program "The White Cube" on Radio Sabadell 94.6fm. combining his artistic practice with artistic direction at the Academia de Bellas Artes de Sabadell Fundación Privada. He held his first exhibition “El color sin forma” at the Impaktes Visuals gallery in 2008 and “Explorations” at the Sabadell Academy of Fine Arts in 2013. In 2016 he obtained a residency at Estruch Fábrica de Promoción and exhibited at the Art Museum de Sabadell "Sabadell Obert 15/16" exhibition curated by Marc Vives, this same year he also does it at the Fabra i Coats Contemporary Art Center in Barcelona with the exhibition "Co-Habitar". In 2018 he opened a solo exhibition "Paintorama" at the H10 gallery in Barcelona. In February 2019 he carried out a residency at the Werner Thöni Artspace gallery in Barcelona where I do a solo show. The same year he also made a residency at the Semi Underground Space gallery in Beijing where he exhibited the exhibition “Diagram”. Two months later he shows his work with the artist Zheng Yueyuan at the Zhi Art Museum in Shenzhen, China as well as in 2020 the SHU Gallery in the same city. In 2015 he was a finalist in the Güell Foundation painting prize, exhibiting at the Real Círculo Artístico de Barcelona. Also in the visual arts award of the Arranz-Bravo Foundation in 2016 and in the “SETBA Joven 2017” exhibition at the SETBA Foundation in Barcelona. In 2017 he was selected in the biennial Jeunne Creation Europénne (JCE) where he has participated in his exhibition at the Le Beffroi Museum in Montrouge Paris, traveling exhibition through different European countries such as the Kunstbygningen Center and VRA Denmark, Science and Art center " Brūzis ”from Lithuania, at the Cluj Center of Interest in Romania, at the Come Italia art gallery, currently at the Museu del Empordà in Spain and at the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Museum in Portugal. It was also selected in 2018 in the Arts FAD18 award with a group exhibition at the Museum of Design Hub in Barcelona.
