Flamingos symbolise many things in different cultures including peace, love and happiness. Generally they represent living with grace and beauty during adversity, seeing as they are known to stand on one leg for long periods of time. They also symbolise balance in life and not giving up on goals, especially with their long necks that can reach where other birds cannot. Furthermore, they represent the nurturing of potential because they are born white and it takes years of feeding on a crustacean-rich diet to obtain the brilliant plumage for which they are named. The flamingo can also be a symbol of self-love and acceptance, as they are beautiful birds and do not need to compare themselves with others to validate their own worth. Likewise the water lily has many symbolic meanings, including purity, innocence, beauty and transformation. This is due to their ability to emerge from murky waters and blossom into delicate flowers that help to purify the water. Thus they are also considered to be calming, soothing and balancing. Frogs symbolise many different things in most cultures, including prosperity, transformation and purity, as well as balance according to some African legends. This is mainly due to their incredible tenacity by adapting to ever-changing environments. The dragonfly is a symbol of change, transformation and rebirth and they remind us to bend with change and continue to sparkle no matter the hardship. Nature often holds a mirror so we can see more clearly, the ongoing processes of growth, renewal and transformation in our lives. - Anonymous He will transform you into the likeness. You do the beholding, He does the transforming. – Alan Redpath 1 Thessalonians 5:21. But test everything; hold fast what is good. Revelation 3:11. I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
